Indian Ambassador Unveils Thiruvalluvar Statue in the Philippines to Mark 75 Years of Diplomatic Ties

In a historic event celebrating the longstanding diplomatic relations between India and the Philippines, Indian Ambassador Harsh Kumar Jain unveiled a statue of the revered Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar. The ceremony took place at the Gullas College of Medicine (GCM) in Cebu on Saturday and was officially announced by the Indian Embassy in the Philippines via a post on X.

The unveiling of Thiruvalluvar’s statue was a key highlight of the Indo-Philippine Cultural and Educational Exchange Summit, hosted at GCM. This event was part of a series of celebrations commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between India and the Philippines. According to an official statement, GCM’s Chief Executive Adviser, Dr. David Pillai, played a significant role in organizing the event and commissioning the statue at the college.
