Madurai Railway Junction Gets Multi-Level Two-Wheeler Parking Facility

A new multi-level two-wheeler parking facility has been opened at the main entrance of Madurai railway junction, enhancing parking convenience for commuters. With this addition, the station now has two designated parking areas, including an open parking lot near the entrance.

Previously, three parking lots catered to two-wheelers near the main entrance, but one has been closed, and another will be shut down in March. Due to ongoing development work, the main entrance has also been temporarily closed, with a new entry point established near the booking counter.

The multi-level parking facility is a premium service, charging ₹10 for up to two hours, ₹20 for 2-6 hours, ₹30 for 6-12 hours, ₹40 for 12-24 hours, and ₹750 for monthly parking. Helmet storage is available at ₹5 per day. The facility spans four levels, including the ground floor, and accommodates up to 700 two-wheelers, with dedicated charging points for electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, the open parking lot remains a non-premium option with lower fees. The Railways has assured that any complaints about parking operations will be addressed. Once station development works are complete, a multi-level car parking facility will also be introduced.
