Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 Review – A Strong Return with Unmatched Drama
Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 brings back Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as Hell's Kitchen's vigilante after a long absence. This season delivers gritty drama, intense fight scenes, and a compelling rivalry between Matt and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio), now the mayor of New York. The plot explores Matt's struggle to balance his lawyering and vigilante sides after the assassination of his friend, Foggy Nelson, and Fisk's political rise.
While the show excels in core performances and thrilling moments, such as a jaw-dropping fight between Daredevil and Bullseye, it stumbles at times with uneven pacing. Murdock spends much of the season without suiting up, and some CGI action sequences feel off. The absence of Foggy and Karen Page leaves a noticeable gap, and the new supporting characters don't always measure up. However, the season ends on a high note with a return from Jon Bernthal's Punisher and an adrenaline-pumping finale.
Despite its flaws, Born Again lays a strong foundation, especially with its compelling villain and dynamic between Murdock and Fisk. The finale promises better things to come in the next season, leaving fans optimistic for what’s ahead.
