Viduthalai Part 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Vijay Sethupathi Starrer Shines with Rs 22.8 Crore

Vetrimaaran’s Viduthalai Part 2, the much-awaited sequel to the 2023 hit, has opened to strong numbers despite mixed reviews. The Vijay Sethupathi starrer earned Rs 7.5 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 7.7 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.6 crore on Sunday, taking its first weekend collection to Rs 22.8 crore. This remarkable performance has already surpassed the first week's earnings of Viduthalai Part 1, which had made Rs 20.65 crore.

The film's opening weekend success has placed it among the Top 10 Tamil films with the best opening weekend collections. The list includes blockbusters like GOAT, Indian 2, Pushpa 2, Kanguva, and Captain Miller. Viduthalai Part 2 also marks the best opening for a Vijay Sethupathi film in 2024, surpassing the weekend tally of his earlier release, Maharaja.

Directed by Vetrimaaran, known for his intense storytelling, and powered by Vijay Sethupathi’s performance, Viduthalai 2 carries a strong political theme and continues the revolutionary saga from its predecessor. The film’s cinematography by Velraj and music by Ilaiyaraaja add to its cinematic appeal.

With Christmas holidays around the corner, the film’s collections are expected to remain steady. All eyes are now on its Monday performance to see if it sustains the momentum and cements its position as one of the standout Tamil films of the year.
